The Markets. Auckland, Friday Night. Dairymen have arranged with the Grocers, Association to settle tho price of butter and eggs according to the supply each week. The following are the quotations to-day : Wholesale: Butter, prime fresh, Is Frozen Meat Company’s Shell Brand, Is 3d ; cheese, good factory 4d to 4jd ; Canterbury, none ; eggs, Is 3d ; lard, in bladders, yj-d; bacon and hams, provincial, 5d to (id ; hams, 7d to cure, 7d ; bacon and hams,, in equal numbers, 7jd; hams, Bi[d. Flour market: Wholesale, Southern flour, £lllss to £l2 ; Lamb’s Premier, £l2 15s ; oats, 2s 4d to 2< fid ; maize, 3s 3d to 3s fid ; Southern potatoes, £3 to £3 ss; pearl barley, do., 22s ; beans, 3s 3d; onions, £8 to £9. Mr Mcllhone’s Claim. Mr : Mollhone’s claim for £l7 for services at the Auckland licensing elections was heard to-day by the R.M., and resulted in a verdict for the defendant. . Forgery. The charge against Charles Aickin, ledger-keeper of the Bank of New Zealand, of uttering a forged cheque, was cilled at lb" Police Court to-day. The cheque could nut be produced, and the magisti.iiu declared that in its absence, the prosecution could not proceed. The prisoner was discharged.
