LATEST AUCKLAND NEWS.
[bv telegraph.—own correspondent.] The Case of Mr Jury. Auckland, Monday Night. Mr Maxwell, General Manager of Railways, has left for the South. With regard to the dismissal of Mr Jury for becoming a candidate for Newton, it was intimated to him that no other course was open, but if he withdraws from the candidature there will be little difficulty in getting reinstated. Mr J. M. Clark. Mr McCosh Clark has declined to become a candidate for any constituency. Mr Tole. Mr Tole addresses his constituents on Thursday, and then decides whether to stand for Eden or Newton. Mr R. Wood. An endeavour will be made to bring out Mr Reader Wood for Parnell. Inspector McGovern. Inspector McGovern has arrived from Kawhia, en route for Russell, to take charge of the North Auckland district.
