[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Sir George Grey's Meeting. Auckland, Friday Night. Sir George Grey's meeting at the City Hall to-night was crowded. Mr Mitchelson for Eden. Mr E. Mitchelson intends to oppose Mr T6le for Eden. - Candidates for City West. Messrs Goldie and Shera are spoken of as probable candidates for Auckland West. Supreme Court. At the Supreme Court to-day, the jury ! returned a verdict of not eruilty in the case against Henry Neil, for the manslaughter of his wife at Onehunga, and the prisoner was discharged. Houra te Mimiha, a native, was indicted upon a charge of unlawfully wounding Charles H. Wight by cutting off his ear. This case arose out of the Maori rape case. Mr O'Meagher, for prisoner, put in an application for a postponement of the trial. His Honour said he could not allow it, but he would allow the postponement of the application till the end of the sessions, when the prisoner, could himself make a positive statement that more evidence was forthcoming. Sharemarket. The sharemarket is quiet, very little business being transacted. New Zealand Banks wanted at £15 ; Colonial Banks, 41s ; South British Insurance, 365; New Zealand Insurance, 645. A telegram was received frotn the Cambria this morning, reporting 301bs of specimens. There are buyers for these shares at 3s Gd. Prince Imperial sellers about 4s. Markets. Wholesale: Butter, prime fresh, lOd; cheese, good factory, 4d to 4jd; Canterbury, none ; eggs, Is 6d; lard in bladder, s£d; bacon and hams provincial, 5d to 7d ; hams, Sfd to 9d ; Southern flour, £11 15s to £12 ; oats, 2s 3d to 2s 5d ; maize, 3s 5d to 3s 7d ; Southern potatoes, £3 to £3 ss; onions, £8 to £9. Sir R. Stout coming out for Napier. The Dunedin Star states that Sir R. Stout will be nominated for Napier, and will sit for Napier if elected.
