FUNERAL QF MR F. A. WHITAKER. We take tho following from yesterday's Herald :-Thf> funeral of Mr F. A. WKitaMelancholy death baft al.reitdy been fully referred to, took place on Satur-' day afternoon', but boirig of a private nature it was onlv attended by the relatives and personal friends of tho deceased. The iiearsoi with the remains of> tlie deceased gentleman and-tho mourning carriages, left Messrs Winks and Hall's establishment in Shortland-street shortly before two o'clock, and proceeded by way of, Shortland-street and Symonds.-sti'eet t() tho residence of Sir Fredk.Whitaker, from whence the funeral was appointed to take"place; s arid here tho melancholy cortege was formed, The principal mourners who occupied the first carriage were Sir Fredk. Whitaker, the father, and Messrs. A. E. Whitaker, H.A. .Whitaker, and; E. Whitaker, brothers of the' citeceasod.? The second carriage was occupied Shepherd, cousin, and Mr Baker, brother-in-law of the deceased, and a young nephew. The Rev. C M. Nelflou and Mr J, Ooates occupied the fourth carriage ; and Messrs. C. E. Button, T; Buddie, and the Hon. Thos. Russell, C.M.G., the next. The remaining carriages were occupied by other friends,- The funeral then proceeded to St .Stephen's Cemetery, Parnell. Here tho burial service of the Church of England was solemnly read by the Rev. C. M. Nelson in the mortuary'church and at the grave, where the mortal remains of the late F. A. Whitaker, were laid beside those of his mother. Tho greatest sympathy was expressed and felt throughout the city for Sir Fredk. Whitaker and hi« family, and for the widow and fivo orphans of the deceased gentleman, amongst all classes of the community.
