Auckland Racing Club's Winter
Meeting. Thkuk was splendid weather for the winter meeting on Saturday, but the attendance was small. The following are the results of the races :— Maiden Steeplechase of lOOsovs. About two and a half miles. Mr F. F. Fitzgerald's Omata f Mr J. Kavanagh's Tawhiao f Mr D. Twoliill's Revenge 3 Wildboy and Magnesia also ran. The owners of Tawhiao and Omata agreed to divide the stakes, and the totalisator paid nn both—namely, £12 to investors on Tawhiao, while those who had backed Omata only received 18s for their pound. Handicap Hurdle Race of lOOsovs. Mr J. Kean's Victory ... 1 Mr W. K. Carter's Coral 2 Mr J. O'Neill's Wat Tyler ... .. 3 Time, Itnin 45sec. The totalisator dividend was £2 7s. Novel Hurdle Race of oOsovs. Mr J. Morton's Faiiplay 1 Messrs Lyons and Blaikie's Pipi ... 2 Mr W. Russell's Rob Roy 3 Winter Handicap of SOsovs. One mile and a distance. Mr Geo. Wright's Friendship 1 Mr W. K. Carter's Rewi ._ 2 Messrs Lyons and Blaikie's Catesby ... 3 The other starters were Turquoise, Pretender, Peter Osbeck, Libeller, Ma Petito Fille, Cannon, Antelope, Cat, Tupaki. GREAT NORTHERN STEEPLECHASE (HANDICAP) of SOOsovs., added to a sweepstakes of lO.sovs. each. Second horse to receive 50sovs., and third horse 25sovs. out of stakes. About three and a-half miles. Mr D. Maloney's ch g Silvio, list 21b... 1 Mr J. Kuan's cli m Magnesia, lOst ... 2 Mr P. J.
