PiiiLADKr,PHiA, April 11. A deputation nf Irish-Americans visited President Cleveland to-day to invito tlicm to attend a meeting calling in Washington for the purpose of protesting against the Irish Crimes Bill. They saw the President's private secretary, Mr Lamont, who told tliem that, whatever tho President's views might be, it was manifestly improper for him to attend such u meeting in his official capacity. Tho deputation hardened to the wisdom of this remark, and withdrew without seeing the President.
