LATE OHINEMURI NEWS.
[by telegraph.—own correspondent.] Paeroa, Thursday. At a sale of property to-day, under warrant, a 50-acre agricultural lease at Waitekauri, almost equal to freehold, was sold for two pounds. A six-roomed house is on the property. Capt. Morris passed through from Wellington to-day, en route for Tauranga. " King " Tawniao and retinue left Paeroa for the Thames this day.
A prosecution under the Gaming and Lotteries Act has been instituted against Mr F. W. Fisher, for carrying on a raffle in connection with his diorama of the Tarawera eruption.
