away the rubbish until he had laid his master's head bare, which was covered with wounds. Then tho dog began to lick the wounds, but finding that the bleeding continued, and comprehending he could not dig further, ho ran off and

seized by the coat the first individual he met, who, thinking the dog was mad, got loose and ran away. Bat a second person, guessing what tho animal wanted, followed him, and consequently the poor milkman was released from his dangerous position. The Minister Genala paid him a visit, and fouud him with his head bound up, under a teut, with tho faithful dog lying beside him.
