THE EGYPTIAN TROUBLE.
[BY TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.] . (reuter's telegrams.) Cairo, April 20. Intelligence is to hand from Wady Haifa that the Egyptian troops, under Colonel Chernside, recently attacked the rebel dervishes who were encamped in the Wady Haifa district, inflicting asevere defeat upon them. Their leader was killed, together with a large number of followers, and the camp was destroyed. Constantinople, April 28. Negotiations regarding the future government of Egypt are still proceeding. Sir Drummond Wolff, the British Commissioner, has proposed that the evacuation of Esrypt shall be completed within five years. Kiamil and Said Pashas, the Tuikish Commissioners, have rejected the proposals, and applied to the Sultan for further instructions as to the course they shall pursue.
