The annual meeting) of householders in connection with school matters was held in the schoolroom on Monday evening, Mr Walton ill the chair; : The Chairman stated that the balance in hand on the 31st December, 1886, was nil. The sum of ,£llos was due for school cleaning to the 3lst March. The; cost of painting the school and leather's residence, half of which was borne by, the committee, exhausted the .funds at their disposal. Mr Walton explained that the Rev. Mr Hutson was chairman, but he had left a short time ago, and as no chairman had been elected since " his departure, no written report could be rendered, but as one of the committee, and having been elected chairman of the meeting, he made the verbal one given. The meeting agreed to receive the report, and on the motion of Mr Sibley, seconded by Mr Sorby it was adopted. The riekt business being the election of a committee the following were appointed: —Messrs J. L. Mandeno, W. North, W. Sorby, H. T; Sibley, J. B. Teasdale, J. Walton- arid R. W. Roche. The business of the meeting being ended a vote of thanks to the chair brought it to Qi doSG. At the committee meeting held immediately afterwards Mr Walton was elected chairman of committee.
