ARREST OF A FRENCH COMMISSIONER.
(BY TELEGRAPH.-COPYRIGHT.) [KKUTEB'S TELKGHAMS.] Beumn, April 25. The North German Gazette to-day publishes a statement from reliable sources, that the French Commissioner Schnabell was arrested on German territory on a charge of treason and intriguing in Alsace, and that his arrest was decided upon after convincing proofs of his guilt had been obtained. A Press Association message says:—The English and , European Press strongly side with France respecting the recent arrests made by Germany, but it is believed that the incident will be satisfactorily arranged by diplomacy. RqjrE,-; April 25. His Holiness the Pope has 'offered' to mediate between France and Germany in relation the arrest of Commissioner Schnabell. ■■■."..,;.
