THE HORTICULTURAL SHOW AT TE AWAMUTU.
The third annual show of the Waikato Horticultural Society will be held at Te Awamutu on Thursday next, S. Patrick's Day. The Volunteer' Hall, which has been secured for the occasion, will be temporarily enlarged by the erection of a canvas annexe, so that it is expected ample accommodation will be provided both for the exhibits and the crowds of visitors that are sure to congregate. The local committee have taken a very deep interest in the undertaking, and their hearty efforts have been generously seconded, not only by the residents of the surrounding districts, but by members of the society in all parts of the Waikato. The number of special prizes amply bears out the truth of this observation. The Eailway Department have made very satisfactory arrangements for conveying visitors to the show and back. A train (stopping where required to pick up passengers) will run from Frankton Junction to Te Awamutu at 10.35 a.m., in connection with the 5.20 a.m. train fromTβ Arnha, and the i). 15 a.m. train from Cambridge, and a train which will leave Te Awamutu at (3.15 p.m. (stopping: where required to set down passengers) will have connection from Franktou Junction with Cambridge and TeAroha, Saturday return tickets _to Te Awamutu will be issued at any station on Kith and 17th March, and will be available for return up to and concluding 18th March. A special will also run from Auckland on the same clay, going on aa far as Otorohanga. Taking all things into consideration we see no reason which the show of ISS7, should not be as successful as, if it does not outshine, its predecessors.
