With the exceptibn of the Champion, which was regarded as a " moral " for Trident, the racing throughout was of afirst-elnss character. Gren't interest was attached to the All Aged, in which Nelson was opposed by the ''"champion two-year-old Hortense and several other speedy ones, but tho great son of King Cole had no difficulty in shaking off his opponents at the finish, and won easily in splendid time. The Champion Stakes, of 25sovseach, sft, >. with 1000 added. For three-year-olds and upwards. Weight for age. The second horse to receive 200sovs, and the third lOOsovs out of the stake. Nelson kept third place till entering the straight, when Hortense fell back beaten, and Nelson coming with a great run soon passed Sumatra, and won easily by two lengths. Time lmin 42|sec. The betting at the post was (5 to 4 on Hortense ; t> to 4 against Nelson.
