OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL.

The ordinary meeting of the council was held on Saturday. Mr Edwards wrote, claiming £i 13s Gd for completing roll.—Received. Mr Alex. Hogg wrote re £100 subsidy for the connection of the Monastery mine with Railey's plant, Karangahake.—Referred to the board of works.

Greejihallo wrote, requesting a road to be made to his claim, the " Me and Rowe," at Owharoa, for the purpose of carting quartz to Railey's mill. —Two men were ordered to be put on under the superintendence of Or. Corbett. £5 was granted for Waitiwhata bridge repairs, and £5 for repairs to same tat the Tui Creek mines track. The Colonial Treasurer reported that an advance of £1000 was available to the council to pay thi) first moiety of the award under section 22 of the Counties Act, IS7O, by Mr Fitzgerald, the Auditor-U-eneral. Subsidies were reported as available as under:— £200, Railey's tramway; £350, Karangahake track extension ; £ioo, tramway connection at Waihi. A number of applications were received for the position of clerk, treasurer, and collector of rates to the county. Mr Xepean Kenny, of the Thames, was filially elected at a salary of £llio per annum.
