" At the Police Court to-day,' before' Mr Smith, R.M7, Jane Graham'.was called upon to answer ah information laid against her by Anne Robertson, that she: did on-or about the 11th May, 188G,' at-Auck-l land falsely, wickedly; wilfully and t corruptly commit wilful and' corrupt perjury in testimony ''Which she gave Upon an oath as witness at the trial of a certain case between Ann Robertson, aforesaid, and John Wilson and John Home, executors in the establishment' of the li'ite Robert Graham, in the Supreme Court, holden at Auckland, by stating that' Robert Graham was either in Tauranga'or on his.way to Auckland, when the , said Annie' Robertson "was ejected from' the Ohinemutu Hotel, on,lßth .February, wliereas, hi truth ■ and in fact he was not. Mrs Graham did not appear, and Mr Cunningham explained to Mrs Robertson, ■that a telegram' was received yestetday from defendant, requesting an adjournment to give time to prepare the defence. The solicitors, Messrs Williamson- and Earl,' agreed that the case should be adjourned for a week. Messrs Gover and Earl sequently appeared, and the hearing was fixed for the 10th March. ■ The Unemployed, The railway authorities are still passing the unemployed along the line to where there is work. Persons.applying for passes, at the office of the town clerk require to produce a written certificate from some respectable person stating that they are out of employment aud un«ble to pay the fare. The second was that M 2lbs picked stone have been obtained,from the hanging wall reef in the winze,.near the eastern side, 12 feet above No. 2 level. Typhoid Fever.
