SYDNEY STOCK MARKETS.

Messhs Wit. Ing us and Son Repout for the week ending February 4th :—

Fat Cattle.—A large number were forward at Homebush on Monday last, 1104 being yarded. The attendance of both town and country buyers was large, and enabled the supply to be worked off without any further decline from previous rates. The highest average was for a lot of 194 bullocks from Ma-rtindale that made £7 10s Gd, the next being £6 ISs 9d for a draft of 137 from Mount Howitt, and the balance brought prices ranging down to £4 19s 4d. To-day (Thursday) 772 head were forward, and rates unaltered. The best average was for a lot of 123 bullocks from Tinenbovo that made £7 7s od; another of 100 from Mooki Springs bringing £0 19s 6d. A draft of cows from Kyaba averaged £0 5s lid. Values at our Sydney Yards Fat Cattle sales this afternoon showed no change from last Thursday. We quote :— Best Beef ... 21s per 100 lbs. Fair 18s „ Middling ... lGs „ Sheep.—l4,soo were penned at Homebush on Monday, and the market firm throughout, although no material improvement took place; the best price for any large lot was 8s 10d for a consignment of 1200 from Marthaguy, some small ones going higher; a very large lot of 3000 ewes from Yancannia sold from 5s od to 8s Gd. To-day (Thursday) 21,000 were yarded, and the large number bought for meat preserving purposes prevented any decline in the market. A very prime lot of merino wethers from Albany sold from 9s to 12s 2d, some crossbreds from same place selling from 10s 6d to 12s Gd. A lot of 2100 merino wethers from Charlotte Plains, the balance at prices ranging down to Gs Gd. We quote — Best wethers 9s to Us (id Good 7s Gd to 9s (id Others ... ... ... from (is up Milch Cows.—There was another large number in at our sale yards this morning, but all met a very satisfactory sale, especially for any of superior quality. We quote— Best cows £11 to £15 Good £'J to £10 Others from £4 up Horsks.—We report the following sales of horses at Bazaar and at the Camperdown Yards for fortnight ended February 3 instant. At the Bazaar, 38 heavy draught mares and geldings, at from £23 5s to £3(i 10s; 3G medium ditto, at from £12 15s to £2110s ; 24 high-clas.sed saddle and harnes3 horses, at from £20 to £32 10s ; 31 horses of a 'bus and van description, at from £12 to £19 15s ; 38 light saddle and harness horses, from £G to £11 5s ; also, a large number of horses, both heavy and light, at market rates. The supply of country horses at the Bazaar has not been large, but entries from town and suburbs have been very numerous. We sold contractors' plants on account of Messrs Johnston, Griffin, Beckett and others. At Camperdown, January 25th ultimo, on account of Mr R. Alcorn, Jerry's Plains, 21 horses, comprising light saddle and harness horses and active draught colts and fillies, the former realising from £4 to £11 sa, the latter from £13 to £17 10s; on account of Messrs J. J. Hayter and Co., Burrawang, 20 light saddle horses, also 'bus and. van sorts, the, former realis-

ing from £4 10s to £12, the latter from £1110s to £14 ; also, 6 draught colt? and fillies on account Mr H. E. Kater, Mount Bronghton, Moss Vale, at from £19 to £25. On account Mr J. Dennis, Gingkin, 18 horses of a very light description, £4 5s to £8 15s; and 23, on account of various owners, at market rates. Since our last the market haH been brisker for all descriptions. Superior horses, both heavy and light, meet with keen coin petition. In vehicles we Bold two Oppenheim buggies at £40 and £25 10s respectively, three s.s. buggies at £24, £26 and £27 10s, a second-hand cab at £29, a sociable at £3G, a double-seated buggy at £31; also a large number of new and second-hand paguel and spring carts, vans, town and tip drays, and sundry sets of harness.
