[BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.! WELLINGTON, Sunday. Charles Hekcock, aged 70 years, comiriitted suicide at Dalefield yesterday by drowning. The deceased was recently married to a young woman about twenty years of age. CHRISTCHURCE, Monday. At the Supreme Court to-day Ellesmere Goodwin, in whose case a former jury dis agreed, pleaded guilty to a charge of perjury, aud was sentenced to two years hard labor. Stephen Hubbard who had pleaded guilty last week, and gave evidence against. Godwin was discharged.
