MAT AM ATA SPORTS.

Over fifty entries lu\e been received for the MatamaU Racing Club's annual race meeting, and judging by the way the acceptances have come in up t-> the present, the handicapping of Messrs Cair and Allwill appears to have given general satisfaction. The club committee arc .sparing neither trouble nor e\penf?e to make the meeting a complete success. Seventy-6iK feet of bootli accommodation is now in course of erection, including a temperance booth, where tea, coffee, fruit, &c, will be provided, so that ladies and children can obtain refreshments suitablejto their liking. There will also be a temporary giand .stand 72 feet long, on the centre of which the brass band will be located. Mr W. T. Firth has mide arrangements with Mr Caifcer, of Ounbridge, to run a coach between tha railway station— which is close to tlio r.iCJ com se— and tlje^ hot springs, for tho co.nenienco of picnic parties.
