HAMILTON CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL.

Tub arrangements for the Carnival and International Fete, to be held at Hamilton during Chiistmns week, are being pushed forward ihost vigorously. The annexe to the Oddfellows' Hall is fast approaching completion, while tho mural decorations in the hall itself, which ore of the most ornate description, are also in a forwaid state. Some idea of the apace which will be a\ ailable for the purposes of the carnival may be formed, when itisbtated that the temporary addition covers nearly as much ground as "the hall itself, which is the largest in Waikato. As we have already stated iv pre\ious issues, elaborate preparations have been made for the pantomime and the dramatic enteitainments. The nigger minstrels aie rapidly cramming their repertoiro with the most original and piquant jokes ever flashed bef< re a Waikato audience and perfecting thu choruses of some of the old familiar plantation melodies. For the concert on Tuesday evening, the 28th, a considerable accession of stmngth has been secured from Auckland musical ciicles, and the tableaux vivants will be rendered more enchanting by the aid of Mr Reids splendid lime-light apparatus. We understand that His Worship the Mayor of Cambridge has asked thu railway department to put on a ]ate train, which will enable visitors from that town and district to return after the close of each evening's proceedings. It is hoped that similar arrangements to suit the residents of Upper Wai pa will also be made. Season tickets are now in the hands of Messrs Sandes and Co. and Mr P. Le Quesne for sale. It is desired that all contributors to the French work stall at the Fancy Fair will be kind enough to send in their contributions to Mrs Hume as early as possible next week.
