The Races. Auckland, Friday Night. Ckemorne has been scracched for the Cup and Derby. There is no change in the betting. Kingfish's feet are troubling him.
The Timber Trade. The Sash and Door Company have 1,700,000 feet of timber in logs awaiting the market.
Supreme Court. In the divorce case, Robert Fawcett v. Fawcett and Downing, the Judge made a rule absolute. An order was granted winding up the ilahurangi Co-operative Society.
The Matamata Obstruction Case. In re Firth v. Pauapa and others, Mr Button moved for a .substitute service. Hirf Honor held that it was necessary that an affidavit that prompt service could not be effected should be filed. The plaintiff would then be at liberty to proceed as if personal service had been effected, and a writ and statement of claim could be affixed to the whare on the land whereof the possession is claimed.
