WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The property tax payments, the first instalments of which were due to»day, we coming in better than on any previous year, and it estimated that £30,000 was paid uj> to last night. Between today and the IStli inst., it is expected that the greater part of the tax will have been collected. From the Aorangi, which arrived a few lays ago, has been landed the material for the construction of the new boiler for the Government steamer Hinemoa. The only manufactured material imported is the boiler pUtts with flanges.
