Melbourne, Wednesday. The Victorian Government have decided to ask the Government of New South Wales to join in inviting the Prince of Wales to visit Australia during the centenary celebration of 1888.
Sydney, Wednesday. Arrived, last evening : Mararoa, from Auckland. The steamship Corangamite has been abandoned. An enquiry is now proceeding as to the cause of the loss of the steamship Keilawarra.
(Received December 15th, 3 p.m.) Melbourne, Wednesday. Sailed, Manapouri for the Bluff. The next meeting of the Federal Council of Australasia will not take place until January, 1888, by which time it is hoped South Australia will have joined the federation.
