The first wool sale of the season was hold to-day, wlion tlm.ro was a pood attendance of buyers, including home representatives. Notwithstanding the adver.^e reports of the progress of the London sales, competition
for crossbred was very good, and prices were up to expectations ; but for merinos the demand was weak, and prices somewhat (compared with crossbred) lower. (Jro.iav crossbred, medium, brought 7d to 8,1 • ditto, light, Btd to 10i— the latter being for 31 bales. Glenledi greasy long-wo.-l brought 7d to 7£d ; merino, heavy, (i.d to 7d ; ditto, light, 7^d to Bjjd.
