Nominations with fees, name, age, pedigree of hordes, names of owners ami colours of riders to be sent to Mr W. Carr, Cambridge, or the Secretary, Matamata, not later than 8 p.m. on THURSDAY, December 9th. Weights will be published in The Waikato Times on or about the 14th December. Acceptances and general entries to be in by 8 p.m. on FRIDAY, the 21st December. The " District " shall include all the country within a radius of 8 miles round the Matamata railway station, aud all horses entered for the District races must have been in the district and owned by or in charge of the persons in whose names they are entered for at least three months immediately prior to date of entry. All other races open to Allcomers. All Races to be run in colours, and three horses to start or no race. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing to be decided by a majority of the Stewards present or those whom they may appoint, and their decision shall be final. Protests must be made in writing and given to the Secretary, accompanied by a deposit of £1, within 20 minutes from the conclusion of the race disputed, such deposit to be forfeited to the racing fund should the Stew ards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Five per centum will be deducted from the winnings in Nos. 1, 3, and 5 races, where the winners are not members of the Matamata Racing Club, such moneys deducted to go to the racing funds. Auckland Racing Club rules will be , adhered to.

An excursion train will leave Hamilton for the racecourse at 9.50 a.m. on the day of the races, calling at all intermediate stations and connecting at Ruakura with the 9. 15 a.m. ordinary train from Cam bridge, and at Morrinsville with the 8.20 ordinary train from Te Aroha, arriving at Matamata at 11.45 a.m., leaving again on the return journey at 5.25 p.m., and connecting with the afternoon trains for Te Aroha and Cambridge. Saturday return fares will be charged. This will give the public a splendid opportunity tor a run into the country, a view of the picturesque scenery of the Thames Valley, the new and thriving settlement of Waharoa, the Wairiri Waterfall, and the celebrated Hot Springs of Matamata. The Te Aroha Brass Band will be in attendance. Luncheon and nil kinds of refreshments supplied on the course in his iwial magnificent style by that Prince of Caterers, Frank Rose, of Oxford. I.
