MhLiiouiiNE December 7. It is intended to invite their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Wales to the inaugural ceremony in connection with the Centennial Exhibition in 1888. Preliminary arrangements for the Exhibition are being rapinly pushed forward. The space allotted will largely exceed that of the Exhibition of 1880. Commissioners will be appointed both in Melbourne and London. The statement that the second instalment of three millions of the authorised Victorian Government loan of eight millions is to be placed on the London market in January is confirmed. The Union Co.'s Tarawera sailed this afternoon for the Bluff.
Sydney, December 7. The Cordijgcimite's passengers, to the number of 54 saloon and 38 steerage, have arrived here. The latest reports from Jervis Bay state that the vessel is in a critical position. The Union Co.'s Te Anau arrived yesterday afternoon.
Adelaide, December 7. The accounts of the Teetulpa gold fields continue conflicting. It is known that the English, Scottish, and Australian Chartered Bank bought 6870z5. of gold last week, but, on the other hand, the diggers who have returned condemn the field. [Received December 8, 115 p.m ]
Sydney, "Wednesday. The Corangamite is still stranded, and little hope is entertained of floating her. The insurances on the vessel amount to £25,000. A portion is held by the Union Insurance Company of New Zealand. The British India Navigation Company have purchased the fleet of the Australasian Steam Navigation Company for £200,000. Heavy rain has fallen, causing serious floods in some places.
