TE AWAMUTU. Choir Re-union.
A most pleasant, though unusual meeting for this part of tho world took place on Thursday evening, the 25th inst., at the parnonage here, when the members of the varn.iw Anglican choirs of Waikato Went, upwards of thiity in number, met, in response to an invitation from their clergyman, for social converse. The rev. host and hostess h.id Hp.ired no pains to ensme an agreeable .md attractive entertainment, to which end th^y had arranged long table* in the dining-room, covered with v<uious inviting comestibles to which ample justice was dispensed, both at the tea and supper. A number of musical Refactions and songs enlivened the interval. The proceedings were closed soon after ten o'ciock with that admirable evening hymn of Bishop Keble's (No. 24, Hymns A. and M.), which was sung with the utmost heartiness. JJy the good attendance, it would seem that our new pastor's efforts are appreciated, and that he is likely to become very popular. The parsonage and grounds are so much improved since the advent of the present incumbent, that they now appear eminently adapted to festivals of alike nature. — (A Correspondent).
