uunuux, a><>\Pinner zo. An extraordinary meeting of the Viceroy's Council has been held in Dublin Castle, General Buller being present, Jfc is reported that resolutions were passed that energetic measures be taken for tho repression of illegal combination on the part of the Irish tenantry refusing to pay rent. Mr John Dillon, M.l*, for Mayo, has been summoned to appear before the Court of Queen's Bench, Dublin, to answer a charge of intimidation iv his recent public speeches. A Press Association telegram says : —The Government will prosecute Mr Dillon for seditious speeches made by him.

London, November 27. Messrs OBrien, Dillon, and Lakley, M.P.'s, are inciting the Irish tenants to offer rents less 2u per cent., and if that is refused, to lodge the amount with trustees, to maintain and defend those evicted. The landlords have lately made great reductions in the rents, and it it ia expected that the National League and United Ireland will endeavour to suppress any opposition to the payment of reduced rents.
