PUKEKURA ROAD BOARD.

A mektino of the board was held at the Pukerimu Schoolhonse on Friday, the 2(>th November. Present: Messrs J. Gane (chairman), It. Fisher, H. Kusabs, A. Wallace and Fj. Allen. A circular was received from the Chief Surveyor in reply to the secretary's enquiry re certain roads in Ohaupo, whether they had been gazetted.— A letter was received from Mr H. Fitzgerald, requesting the board's permission to get about 39 loads of gravel. Granted, on condition of stripping being carefully taken away, and the gravel left clear.— A letter was read from Mr Thos. Cowley, offering to clear and plough a portion of road at his boundary for £2 10s. —Deferred till next meeting. The board resolved that any person taking any gravel from the board's pit without permission will be prosecuted. The following tenders were received and opened for works as advertised, viz. :— No. 1, Road (Te Rore) : Thos. Cowley, lid per yard ; Turnwald and Bartello, 7^d ; C. S. McCallum, 7d ; Richard Norrish, Bd.— No. 2, Te Rore Road : Thos. Cowley, claying, lOd; McCallum, 6d.— No. 3, Mystery Creek Road : Thos. Cowley, forming 3s Gd per chain, gravelling Is 4d per yard ; Geo. Kennerley, forming 3s 3d per chain, gravelling Is 2d per yard ; Richard Norrish, forming 2s lid per chain, gravelling Is 2d per yard. —No. 4, Watson's Road : G. Kenner ley, gravelling, Is 3d per yard ; F. O'Neill, Is 2d ;R. Norrish, Is 6d.— lt was resolved that McCallum's tender be accepted tor Nos. 1 and 2 ; R. Norrish's for No. 3 ; and F. O'Neill's for No. 4. Tenders were received and opened jor works in Cambridge West as follows :— No. 1 : Jas. Hicks, forming 7s Gd per chain, culvert, etc., £1 extra; D. McKinnon, forming 7s per chain, culvert £1 extra ; Thos. Hall, 5s Gd per chain ; Giles and Fletcher, 3s and 4s 9d.— No. 2 : McKinnon, G} Gd per chain ; J. Hicks, 53 Gd ; T. Hall, 3s 3d; Giles and Fletcher, 3s.— No. 3: Giles and Fletcher, 3a ; R. Mitchell, 3d lOd ; J. Hicks, 5s 2d ; D. McKinnon, 6s.— No. 4 : J. Hicks, cutting £1 10s, forming Gs Gd per chain ; Giles and Fletcher, forming 4s Od, cutting £2.— No. 5 : Giles and Fletcher, £3 10s.— Resolved that Giles and Fletcher's tenders be accepted for Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 5, also No. 4 forming. Accounts received and passed for payment amounting to £13 Is lid. The board resolved to meet at the Pukerimu schoolhouse on Wednesday, the 29th December, 188G, for the purpose of making a rate of £ in the £ on all rateable property in the district for the year 18SG1887. Said rates to be due and payable on 31st. March, 1887. This was all the business.
