The Rev. Dr. Goe will be formally inducted as Bishop of Melbourne on February 24. The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Bishop of Manchester will consecrate the Rev. F. Y. Goe. A vacancy hai occurred in the representation of Brighton in the House of Commons, owing to the death of the senior Conservative member, Mr Smith. The seat will be contested by Sir G. 0. Tievclyan, Secretary for Scotland in Mr Gladstone's last Administration, against tho Conservati\e candidate.
