FIRE AT CAMBRIDGE.
A six hoomeo house on the Hamilton road, occupied by Mrs Kerr, was binned down yesterday. A very small portion of the furniture was saved. The lire broke out in tho centre of the building. Mrs Ken had a fire outside at the time, and was washing. There was no fire in the lioum ye-steiday, but there was one on Tuesday in the room in which it broke out. A lot of Ktin cartridges were exploded by the lire, but no one was injured. If the wind had bjen slightly more s.Mth'M'ly Mr Frederick Houghton's hon*o would probably have suffered. The building was in-.uied in the South British for £100 and the furniture in the Norwich Union for £100. The premium had been paid, but the policy has not yet been received. It is not known how it originated. It is estimated that the loss will amount to £130.
