HOME RULE IN WALES.

Tho following letter from Mr Gladstone wa& read on Monday at a local Eisteddfod .it Caergwrle : — "House of Commons, September 21, ISSfI. Dear Hir,— l have considered with care the request made to me in your letter. I think there is ground for believing that we have arrived at a period likely to be marked by something of a now development in the political life <«f Wales. I have alluded to this subject briefly in a pamphlet which I have lately published on the Irish question, and I would, were this the occasion, add to what I have there said. But Ido not think that it is well for me to take a pait at this early stage in giving any particular direction to this development. I think this function belongs to persona whose oonnection with Wales is more special and exclusive than my own. I must therefore be content at present to watch the course of political feeling and action in Wales with that interest which attaches in my mind to all the concerns of tho Principality. I remain, your very faithful servant, \V. X CILVOsroXK. J. Morgan Jones, E>q."
