The .secretary announced that a sum of £25 had boon collected, and other subscriptions had yet to come in. It is expected there will bo funds enough in hand to admit also -A a few sports being got up for the young folks on terra finna. From the enthusiasm with which the matter has been taken up there can be no doubt that a capital day's amusement will be afforded, and all cUe that will be required is the co-operation of the clerk of the weather to make tho affair a genuine sueA* "social " was held in the Public Hall last night under the auspices of the Aroha Brass Band. There was a fair attendance, and the proceedings wore exceedingly enjoyable. Mr Mathew Burnett, the celebrated temperance lecturer, is announced to appear hoi c shortly in the prosecution of his crusade.
