DUNEDIN, Thursday. The gold-escort arrived in town to-night with gold valued at £20,000. Ftiday. Henry Percy Fisher, who was sentenced at the hist criminal sittings to three years' imprisonment, succeeded in making his escape from the hard labour gang at the Heads this afternoon, and had not been captured when darkness came on. The manner in which the prisoner escaped was marked by great daring. Fislior, while being conveyed to Duned,in, jumped off the tiain at Pelichet Bay station, and made for the bush near the Northern cemetery, where it is believed he is hiding". A constable jumped after him and sprained his foot.
