THE MATAMATA RACING CLUB.

The committee of the above club seem determined to take time by the forelock, for they have already began to busy themselves in the matter of preparing for their annual races, to be held as usual on Boxing Day, which this year will be kept up on Monday, the 27th December. This club is becoming very popular in the Thames Valley, and is receiving very warm support from the settlers. The meeting last Boxing Day was one of the best that has been held in the Waikato. The money waa sufficient to bring together some very decent horses, and as more of the funds will be devoted to racing this year, instead of dividing so much in athletic sports as was the case last year, I expect to see some substantial prizes given.
