HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A spkcial meeting of the Borough Council was held last night, to consider the business left unfinished at the ordinary meeting. Present: His Worship the Mayor, Oh. Jones, Barton, Bell, Edgecumbe, yon Stunner, Tippen, Dey and JKnox. The Council went into committee. The Engineer's report was read, and the following works were considered. Bbadley's Bridge. — The Enginoer had in accordance with instructions prepared estimates for a wooden structure, a concrete culvprt, and a brick culvert. The expenditure involved in undertaking either of the plans was considered too high, and it was resolved that a sum not to exceed £60 be placed at the disposal of the Works Committee for tho erection of a bridge of similar dimensions to the present btrucLure. ViofORU-sTitEEr Formation. —It was recommended that the street be formed from Moore's corner to Liverpool-street, and thence to No 1 Bridge, a width of 33 feet, and that the footpath from llo&sti'evorstreet to Liverpool-street should bo formed and gravelled on the West side. Cook htrkkt Drain.— -It was resolved that the engineer be instructed to prepare plans and specifications to be considered at the next meeting of the council for drainage from Pearson's corner down Grey-stieet, and thence by Bridge-street to the Waikato River. The Council then adjourned.
