Tfiems has been considerable annoyance "and loss occasioned at Alexandra lately, by a aerios of petty robberies. C^uito a number of hen rooHts have been visited in the township and the fowls stolen, and Mrs McNall was robbed of nine fine turkeys also. Mr Thomas Finch's billiard table cover has disappeared from its proper position, boing the second so absent without leave. On the Hikurangi and Alexandra road, whore Mr Meredith is employed on the culverts, his camp has been visited in his absence, a box broken open and a quantity of tools taken away, besidos some of his outside plant. The police, however, are on the alert, and it is to bo hoped will lay their hands on the depredators ere long.
