MR. DANA'S ECONOMY.
While Charles A. Dana was managing editor of the New York Tribune, Joe Howard was officiating as war correspondent. A gie.it battle had been sought and Joe was telegraphing a description of it. He began the exordium : 'To God bp all tho glory ! Miue eyes have seen thtwork of the Lord and the cau&e of the righteous lias triumphed,' with more ot tho same sort, followed by the word.", 'The army of the Potomac is triumphant ; we have won a great victory. A day or two after he received a letter something like the following ; "Hereafter, in sending your reportp, pleme specify the number of tho hymn and have telgr-jph expenses.
