The steamer Lyttelton, bound from Collingwood to Wellington, with a cargo of conl, struck on the Beef Barrels, noar the French Puss, at 7-30 la»t night, and s.ink in 10 minutes in deep water, going completely out <>f sight. The captain and crew took to the boats and went to the French Pass, and were picked up by the steamer Murray, and brought to Nelson this morning. An official enquiry is to be held t >-morrow.
