FOOTBALL Hamilton v. Upper Waipa.
The football match, Hamilton v. Kihikihi and Alexandra combined was played at Te Awamutu on Saturday. Tho local team winning tho toss, Hamilton kicked off against the wind. The Kihikihi forwards were quickly on the ball, which was returned into Hamilton territory a few minutes after tho kick off. For tho greater portion of tho first spell the ball was kopc there almost entirely. About half an hour after play started Hinton, cantain of the visitors, got over the line with Moigan, of Kihikihi, on top of him, from which resulted a in iiil-in-gi);tl. Hamilton for this claimed a try, which the refcrree disallowed on the score of Morgan having had tho ball to the ground first. Nothing was gained in the first spoil, Kihikihi having the be-.t of it, the b.ill having been kept in the Hamilton ground as stated. After the, Hvo minutes' spell Kihikihi kicked off against the wind. Notwithstanding tho wind, the local team .still bothered the Hamilton backs. During tho whole of tho latter spell neither side trained any decided advantage. Hamilton lul to force down four times. The match resulted in a draw, neither side having scored. For the local team Graham, Bayhss, Morgan, Moke, Clements, and Goblo played the best, whilst Hinton, Beale, Steele, and the full-back ((iuird) played very well for the visitors. The teams will meet again in Hamilton <m Saturday week. I would sug gest that in future the players confine themhelves to the game itself, and allow their captains or umpires to decide any disputes that may arise. On Saturday everyone was umpire.— (Correspondent.)
