Paeroa, Wednesday Night. A sitting of the R M. Court was held to-day, before Mr H. A. Stratford, R.M. Paraku v. Logan. Claim £2 16a for posts taken without authority. Plaintiff was nonsuited. The Government have wired that they are holding back some £400 from the Ohinemuri county pending a settlement of the liability on special rate debentures. This will possibly hurry up the settlement of assets and liabilities between the Thames and Ohinemuri counties. The inquest into the Mackay Town fire is now being held.
Mr Armstrong, Tamahere, advice* a grey horse lunning on his place. Messrs A. Buckland and Co. will hold their opening sale in the Morrinsville yards on Thursday, the 30th September, when they will offer 500 head of good cattle, as per list in the advertisement. Those affected by the taking of land at Frankton for railway purposes must send in their claims to the Public Works Office, Auckland,
