Tk Aiioha, Last Night. A full enquiry was held to-day by Mr Stratford, R.M. and a jury, to enquire into the causo of the burning of Mr John Moffats house at Waitoa last week. The verdict given was that there was no evidence to show how the fire originated. • Mr H. H. Adams, battery manager at Waiorongomai, left here to-day for Auckland, en route for San Francisco, having been wired for by Mr J. C. Firth for the purpose (presumably) of inspecting new appliances in use at the Californian mines for gold and silver Having purposes, with a view to their introduction here. The weather is still of the most wretched description.
