The New Zealand Loan and Merchantile Agency Company repoit :— Wool..— The fourth series of sales opened to-day. There was an average advance of 12^ per cent on last sales" closing rates. The attendance of both home and foreign buyers is good,,iuid active competition pre vailn. The opening catalogue contained 13,000 bale*. The i-ales compute about 325,000 bales, besides which 45,000 bales have been sent to manufacturing districts direct.
