CAMBRIDGE LAWN TENNIS CLUB.
A meeting of the Canibiidge Lawn Tennis Ciub was held on the ground <m Wednesday, when Mr N. I. Hunt presided. The rej ort, which was read by the secretary, showed a very satisfactory state of affairs, the result of tho matches pl.ived showing that the club had held its own, n<> a rule, against all opponents ; .md that, through the generosity of Mr J. McXicol, they had been enabled to l««y down a new <and court and extend their ground. Financially, the club w.vs in a healthy condition, there being a smill balance in hand. The election of officers resulted as follows :—: — President, Major Wilson : vice-president*, Dr Waddmgton and Mr K. W. Dyer ; secretary and treasurer. Mr F. W. Cooke ; committee, Misses <T\\ynneth and Souter, and Me**rs Hunt, Porter, Thotiwon, and Wood. — The club ba\e now got h'r&t-clav, ground-), with .1 gra^s and a sand court, both of which are m cipit.vl order, the gra-<s court having been newly sodded during the winter, while the sand court, already in good condition, will improve a« it h played -hi. About twenty new members have joined, and a good season of tennis i> looked forward to.
