CONCERT AT TAUWHARE.
. The concert given at Tauwhare on Friday*' last was in all respects a pronounced i fluccem. The schoolroom wa« overflowing. jMr Allen, president of tha Tanwbare Youny Men's Mutual Improvement Association occupiod the chair, and after ( a' few appropriate remarks called /uj>on' .tntf Misses Wahvorth to open the cotteert < with a pianofort duet. The playing of these two ladies was highly creditable, and , greatly apprepiated by the audience. Mrs Murray, of Waihou, sang with gre.it taste and fueling, and w.is enthusiastically ■encored after 'each hoiir. She receivud several bouquots from the audience, as also | did Miss Tina Anderson, of Richmond, who received a decided encoro after Hinging " We'd better bido a wee." Mr L:\wson was twice encored and caused great m< innient by his capital rendering of the " Masher King." The Messrs Allen wore in good voice, and sang well, and both thoy and the two gentlemen who recited wore loudly applauded by the audience. About thirty couple's remained for dancing, which was kept up until daylight to the accompaniment of the excellent violin music of Mr Greenwood. Songs and resitations were given between the dances by Messrs \llen, C. Allen, Foot and Clark. It is to be regretted that the weather which was tine on Thursday and Friday should so suddenly change as it could not help but make the homeward journey of the visitors very uncomfortable. The' following is the programme : — "Pianoforte Duet," Misses Walworth; song, " Spanish Cavalier," Mr Lawson ; song, " We'd Better Bide a Wee," Miss Tina Anderson: recitation, "The Eve of Waterloo, ' Mr Dnnkwarter ; vocal duet, *' Larboard Watch," Messrs Allen and Clark ; song, " Four Jolly Smiths," Mr C. Allen ; song, "The Sailor Boys Letter," Mrs Murray. Interval :—": — " Pianoforte Du-jt," Misses Walworth ; reading, Mr C. W. Clark ; song, " The Little Hero," Mr Allen ; song, " Driven From Home," Misa Tina Anderson s recitation, " A September Gale," Mr Foot ; »ong, " The Cows are in the Corn," Mrs Murray ; song, " The Masher King," Mr Lawnon.— (A correspondent).
