TE AROHA. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Te Aroha, Wednesday.
The first sitting of the R.M. Court since the death of Mr Kenrick was held yesterday, Mr Northcroft presiding. There was only one case heard, Brett and Co. v. H. T. Howe, claim £3 los for advertising. Defendant did not appear, and judgment was given for the amount claimed, with costs 6s. The next sitting of the court will be held on Tuesday, the 31st inst. Dr. Ginders, of the Rotorua sanatorium, is here at present on a visit, and will remain during the week. He expresses himself as greatly pleased with the town and its surroundings. Of the domain, the springs and the'tiaths, he speaks very highly. The excellence of the bathing accommodation and the extensive improvements made in the grounds took him somewhat by surprise, as he expected to find little more than a few rough sheds in a wilderness of fern and ti-tree, and in all the accessories to the comfort and convenience of visitors, he allows that Te Aroha is in no way behind Rotorua. His stay here will doubtless enable him to acquire much useful information, and our domain board will likewibe profit by his visit in obtaining valuable advice in matters connected with the baths. The sale-yards erected some three years ago by Messrs Banks and Co. at Stoney Creek, midway between this township and Waiorongomai, are now being dismantled. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Co., having purchased the material, are now removing it to Waitoa and Morrinsville for the purpose of adding to their yards at these places. ______________
