The eh urman of the board provided, and after having read the petition and advertisement convening the meeting, then read two letters winch appeared in The Wwkaio TIMK-s .signed E. C. Shepherd, waking chaige-. against the chairman and board of mu>approi>nation of road board fund-? and unequal distribution of board's expendituie, al->o alleged irregularity of the ptocedme of the board in the matter of dealing with the contiact of forming the toad m question. The chairman having denied the accusations in toto, challenged Mr E C. Shepherd to come forward and prove ht»a^eition«. After examining the minute book for some time Mr Shepherd failed to find a record t<> support his allegation. He then commenced a -tatement of the hiwincul portion of the board. Mr Kov.ill s.aid that in view of thefav< able position of the board's hnance, shown by the statement read by the cl he would propose the following motun "That this meeting direct the bo«m piocced forthwith with the formatioroad from Crawford'* corner on by eemt to near McCutcheon's, so as to connec two county roads." Seconded by Mi 1 car. An amendment was proposed bv^ M Shepherd, seconded by Mr "K. Fler "That the road be not proceeded wit the present."
