Mr Ali'kkd Buc-KLANiVb Weekly Report.—At the Haymaiket on Friday. August 0, loose fodder was abundant, and sold freely, good quality brought from 2s 9d to 4s Od the cwt, pressed fodder £4 to AtflOs the ton. Hoi so stock were in full number, and sales moie numerous thau usual, there being a demand for useful farm horses for the spung crops. At the wool, hide,* and skin .sale on Tuesday, hides were plentiful, and there was a full attendance of buyers s, puces of hides were lower than last month, but green butchers' hide.s brought 20s (Id each, calfskins 4d the lb, tallow 13s to 14s (.)d the cwt, bones 4s (id the cwt, full-wooled skins 2s 3d to 2s lid each, wool 'in dumps 3'^d to sfd the lb. At the cattle salrt at W.uuku on Saturday, theie was a fair muster uf cattle ; consequent on the inclement weather the attendance was limited, and although bidding was slow all stock brought forward were eventually sold. At Remuera- on Thursday, dairy cows, of a 'moderate class were numerous, and all sold fieely. Fat cattle were in full numbers, but many of secondary quality. Only last week's prices, varying from 10s to 20s, and averaging 18s the lOOlbs, were sustained. Fat sheep were unusually numerous, but generally of good quality; prices slightly lower than last week. Well-fatted lambs brought from 12s to 17s each, but inferior, were from Is (id each upwards. Pigs, in limited number, were at late values, and calves sold well. The winter season advance in price of forage, and scarcity of grass, had a depressing effect, consequently below the average' number changed hands. Durham-street at junction with fjueen-stroet being closed from traffic restricted the number submitted by auction. At the Durham yards Fnday, competition was moderately good, arid most of thu lots waie cleared at prices submitted to if not expected by vendois. We quote • H-icks, fiou, tl 10s to £U 15s; light draughts, fiom fclO to £L">; heavy draughts, £2"). Wool, hides, skins, and tallow: Good heavy hides were in brusk demand. Cattle : The supply has becu adequate but not excessive.
