THE MAORI PRISONERS.

[BY TKLKC.HAPH.—I'KE.SS AhSCIATION. | Wellington, Saturday. Sureties for the release of the Maori prisoners were entered into to-dny. The bondsmen for Te Whiti are Messrs Wi Pere/M.H.K., and Hanita Te Awawa, and Messrs. Puke Te Ao, M.H.R., and Neiaha Tamaki are bondsmen for Titokowaru. Te Whiti exhibited greaD apathy over the efforts made for his lelease, and at first obstinately refused to sign his recognisance. This afternoon, however, the persuasion of his friends had the desired effect, and he appended his signature to the bond. The prisoners were shortly af Lei wards released.
