Sergeant Anderson and Copsfcabje Franklyh arrested eight natives to-day on la charge of stealing pigs from the property of Walter Sjoddart, in the ,bush, about six miles from Manaia. None of the prisonera", have made any reference ' to Te Whici <}r* Titokf»waru. TSe natives had sheath knives and a gun, but offered no resistance when arrested. Tlie police will apply for a retaand until Thursday.
