TAUWHARE.
A Youno Men's Mutual Improvement Association has been started in Tauwhare. It promises to be a grand success. Several preliminary meetings have been field and officers appointed, committee elected and members enrolled. The members, of whom there are about twenty, meet every alternate Thursday. Last night a debate on the borrowing policy of the Government occupied our time. The proceedings were pretty lively, and the discussion was kept up with much spirit for nearly two hours. A division was taken, and those in favour of moderate borrowing had a majority of two. The dairy factory here is still busy. I understand that more milk is received at this factory than at any about here. The supply averages lOOgals. daily. The weather has been very severe. Last week the thermometer was as low as 22 degrees three morning in succession. Since, then we had very heavy rain-*, but frosty nights have again set in. Another culvert at White's bridge is greatly needed The road has been 'flooded twice this winter. lam told that some of the school children were unable to cross the water on more than one occasion. — (Occasional Correspondent, July ll>.)
